Kingsley won an Oscar for his portrayal of the pacifist Indian leader, and since then has been turning out consistently exceptional performances, most notably as Itzak Stern in Schindler's List (1993) and Don "Malky" Logan in Sexy Beast (2001), where his stunning portrayal of a career gangster couldn't be further away from his Oscar-winning performance - even though it too garnered a nomination, for the best supporting actor gong at the 2002 awards. Two years later he received a nomination for the best actor award for his turn in House of Sand and Fog as the head of an Iranian American family which moves into a new home only to find the former occupant was wrongfully evicted.  His real name is Krishna Banji.
