A documentary directed by actor and comedian Keith Allen, which suggests a cover-up during the recent inquest into the death of Princess Diana, is unlikely ever to reach British audiences.

There are Dark Forces, which takes its title from words attributed to the Queen by the princess's former butler, Paul Burrell, is a broadside aimed at the English establishment and has been co-funded by Mohamed al-Fayed.

Central sections of the film are legally contentious in Britain, so it is destined only for release in America, Canada and France.

'It is powerful and persuasive,' a spokesman for producer Allied Stars said.
